#Read Me, Love Me, Buy Me (Book Review)

Kyle: Lost In Love, #1
By A.M Snead

Book description:-
(M/M erotic romance/highly emotional) - A typical hike to a mountain cabin turns to much more for best friends Nate Westfall and Kyle Haney. Nate’s secret love for his ‘straight’ friend has been simmering for eight years, held down for fear of destroying their lifelong friendship. But as Kyle begins to 'play' with him and pushes him over the edge, he begins to realize there is more to Kyle’s unusual behaviour than meets the eye. Unexpected emotions boil over and the two men fall into each other - until Nate is dealt a blow to his heart that shatters their friendship.

I came across this book while browsing through BooksDaily, Snead had added a ‘RONDOM CHAPTER’ to the site. I was so fascinated by the chapter I had to buy the book instantly!
In the beginning I thought it was going to be another two-best-friends-fall-in-love-after-knowing-each-other-for-years sort of books, but I was wrong, it was much more than that. I really enjoyed it, Snead is good at keeping her readers glued to the story. There isn’t much I can say, that the description doesn’t already tell you, without giving the plot away and ruining it for you. But I will say that the book was a 5 star the whole way through, until the end, were it went down to a 4 star! To say Snead left the story on a cliff-hanger, is an understatement. I think Kyle is either joining the Army or getting the electric chair – I’m sure it’s neither of them but I’ll find out when I read book 2, look out for that review soon...

On Going Story (Cool Title, Anyone?):

CHAPTER 5

Caris-

… his answer, given that she had stormed into his room without knocking. Oops.
“Check your calendar, stupid!”
Yep, her brother hated, absolutely hated being disturbed at dinner, especially when he had intended to have a little ‘fun’ as well.
Looking around his room to find out what he had planned for tonight’s feast, she raised a brow.
“You do know that the brown, Roman chains don’t go well with the 70’s LSD flashback motif?”
As he looked daggers at her –which she ignored – she said, “I asked because of…”
Her brother cut her off midsentence. “I know why you ask; next time wipe off the gravel, will you? And we have still another fifty years, or our parents wouldn’t have gone on that sabbatical. By the way, did you get last night’s email? The pics of that ancient temple of what’s-his-name are amazing. The light…”
“Yeah, yeah, I’ve seen them. Great photos, yadda, yadda. Anyway, when do they plan to come back? They might have another fifty years, but I’m coming of age in two months’ time,” she said, adding a “it’s already November, ignorant jerk, I hope you already have a present in mind”, then went on with her rant, “and it would be great if someone told me what to expect in terms of that blasted curse! I know you haven’t been as affected a decade ago, as you are male – something about your genes being too damaged, or so mama explained it – but seeing that I’m female with genes in perfect working order, it would be nice to know if I turn into  a statue right away or not. Or if I change into a feckin’ Gargoyle if I’m not careful.”
Her brother only looked at her, gaping in utter shock. “Coming of Age? Gargoyles?... What the hell?...Besides, I’ll have you know the Roman chains and shackles go perfectly with 70’s d├ęcor – that’s called a cross-over, little sister!”
“That’s not a cross-over, that’s bad taste. Anyway, you planning on answering my questions any time this century? Or do I have to call Auntie Scarlet? Mentioning that you were too occupied with something else to take care of me?”
More gaping.
“You wouldn’t dare!”
“Of course I would. Watch me,” she said arrogantly, taking out her phone that clearly showed the date, including the year, and…

On Going Story (Cool Title, Anyone?):

CHAPTER 4

Carla-

...stood up, breaking free from the stone. Thankfully for her, being vampire born hindered the Gorgon curse from completely consuming her body and turning her to stone for eternity.
But, every time she uses the curse to her advantage it’s a reminder of the ticking time bomb her parents were cursed with.
At the thought of her parents’ curse, fear and dread washed over her features.
The gormless human was still stood silently in front of her.
“What year is it?” She demanded.
He didn’t answer.
Remembering humans are only useful for one thing, she forced her fangs free from her gums and jammed them into his neck.
After she got her bitter fill she gave him his phone, wiped all memory of her from his brain, and send him on his way.

Once she was back at her lair she wasted no time marching straight to her brother’s room.
Flinging the double doors open she yelled. “What year is it?!”
Her brother jumped to his feet letting the girl, draped across his lap, fall to the floor.
“Lara…”
“What. Year. Is. It?”
Her brother opened his mouth to answer, but she already knew…

#Watch This!: Movie Review of Pitch Perfect

Pitch Perfect (2012)

Arriving at her new college, Beca (Anna Kendrick) finds herself not right for any clique but somehow is muscled into one that she never would have picked on her own: alongside mean girls, sweet girls and weird girls whose only thing in common is how good they sound when they sing together. When Beca leads this a cappella singing group out of their traditional arrangements and perfect harmonies into all-new mash-ups, they fight to climb their way to the top of college music competitions. Pitch Perfect is an outrageously hilarious laugh-out-loud comedy that also stars Anna Camp (The Help), Brittany Snow (Hairspray) and Rebel Wilson (Bridesmaids).

ACA-MAZING ENTERTAINMENT!
Since this is one of my older girls’ favorite movies, I get to watch it at least once a month, the last time being this weekend.
And… even I have to admit it’s fun: absolutely brilliant music, a great plot, with some great laughing-out-loud moments and of course the mandatory love story.
Though the language is not suited for younger kids, for teens and up it is alright; it’s a college movie, let’s not forget that. :)
Basically, Pitch Perfect is a movie about friendship – it shows the Barden Bellas’ way from a bunch of not-perfect individuals to a real dream team.

Here’s a compilation of my favorite scenes, because they say it all:

ONE: The movie starts off with the old Bellas trying to rock the stage at the Lincoln Center at the finals and Aubrey throws up in a really epic – and, of course, utterly disgusting – way.
TWO: Fat Amy introducing herself with some really weird dance moves.
THREE: Beca singing Titanium in the buff in the shower under Chloe’s expectant gaze.
FOUR: Auditions (this is one of the best versions I’ve ever heard of Kelly Clarkson’s Since You Been Gone)
FIVE: Audition Part II: Beca performing Cups.
SIX: The Riff-Off (where the Trebles win unfairly due to a biased referee – BOO!)
SEVEN: The brawl after the Regionals.
EIGHT: Bumper’s Burrito attack.
NINE: The Pool Mash Up
TEN: The Finals
ELEVEN: The Sweetest Apology Ever Followed by the Sweetest Make-up Kiss. *sigh*

See? No use for a plot summary, because this is it in a nutshell. Of course, there are more funny scenes, as well as romantic ones, as well as sad ones: but to find out about them, go watch the movie! It’s worth it!

SUM TOTAL: 5 STARS in the MUSICAL GENRE/ 4 STARS overall
This movie is aca-super, aca-mazing and aca-funny. Sure, it’s a fluffy piece of work, but it’s highly entertaining, the music is great and it makes you sing and dance throughout the whole 90 minutes. For me, one of the best movies in its genre (I’m talking about the last 15 years, that is the era of Glee and High School Musical and Burlesque). And the soundtrack is cool too; absolutely perfect for long drives.
And the best thing: Pitch Perfect 2 is coming in 2015! YEY! (I’ve already promised my girls to go watch it on the big screen)

If you agree with me or in case you absolutely disagree with me, please leave a comment telling me why you love or hate Pitch Perfect. I'm looking forward to your thoughts!
